Fans on Twitter took a dig at Indian opener KL Rahul for his failure against the Netherlands in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 clash at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). They trolled him for his strike rate and raised calls to bring Rishabh Pant in the side.
KL Rahul perishes for 9 runs against the Netherlands in Sydney
India is currently taking on the Netherlands in their second encounter of the T20 World Cup 2022. Skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
Batting first, India was off to a slow start as both the openers took a look at the wicket. KL Rahul smashed a four on the third ball he faced but after that, he looked a bit shaky. He failed to carry on and perished for just 9 runs, leaving India tumbling at 11/1.
Paul van Meekeren trapped KL Rahul in LBW on the 4th ball of the third over. The pacer bowled a full delivery that was angling in. The opening batter tried to flick it over the fine leg but completely missed the ball, which went on to rap on the pads.
Rahul then had a chat with skipper Rohit Sharma about the DRS but he felt that it was straight and walked off the field. However, later the ball tracker showed the ball was missing the leg stump.
