India and Pakistan are currently involved in a fixture at the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022. In this match, Babar Azam was dismissed for a golden duck by Arshdeep Singh. Suresh Raina had predicted that Arshdeep Singh would dismiss Babar Azam
India vs Pakistan is a rare encounter in recent years and hence, the buildup was massive for the match. Many experts were a part of the predictions about the game and Suresh Raina was also one of them. Two days before the match, Raina had predicted that Arshdeep would take Babar’s wicket.
Speaking to Quint, Suresh Raina had said, “He [Babar] is good skipper and a really good cricketer. He has done really well for his team. But hopefully, when he comes to play against us, Arshdeep Singh will get him out.”
Twitter reacts after Raina’s prediction comes true
The Pakistan skipper was a thorn for Team India in the 2021 T20 World Cup. It was important that India took his wicket early, especially in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. It was a stunning start as the left-arm seamer caught Babar LBW in the first bowl that he bowled to him. The batter did take a review but he was clearly out and there was no coming back for him.
With this wicket, India took a stronghold of the game in the early stages. Even Rizwan fell early which made things further easy for India. However, Pakistan still got to a respectable total, courtesy of a fine show by Shan Masood and Iftikhar Ahmed. It now needs to be seen if India would chase the total.
