Shane Warne Wrote A Heart-Winning Tweet For Team India
Former Australian skipper Shane Warne hailed the Indian cricket team after their historic win at the Home of Cricket against England. The Virat Kohli-led side registered a memorable win last night as they defeated Joe Root’s England squad by 151 runs in the second Test match to take the lead of 1-0 in the 5-Test match series.
The last day of the just-concluded second test match turned out to be an absolute thriller, as team India dominated England throughout the day, first with the bat and later with their exceptional bowling.
However, the win didn’t come that easy to the Indian side. They showed exemplary fighting skills and confidence to outperform England in all the departments of the game. In fact, at one point in the game, things looked dull for the Indian side, as they had lost all their top-order batsmen. But India’s tailenders took all the responsibility of the game on their shoulders and turned the tables for their side.
Indian pacers Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah put up a terrific show, however, this time with the bat. In a match, where several batsmen struggled to perform, these two bowlers impressed everyone with their brilliant batting skills as they added 89 runs together to boost the total score of the Indian side.
Later, England started their innings with the worst possible start, as they lost both their openers early in the morning session. Mohammed Siraj (4 wickets), Jasprit Bumrah (3 wickets), and Ishant Sharma (2 wickets) bowled some mesmerizing spells and picked the wickets at regular intervals. For England, only the skipper, Joe Root, was able to cross the 30-runs mark.
Meanwhile, the cricket fraternity was left in awe of the Indian cricket team. As soon as team India defeated England, cricketers from all around the world, took to Twitter to applaud the performance of Indian cricketers.
One of the best Tweets came from former Australian skipper Shane Warne, who wrote a heart-winning Tweet for India. In his Tweet, Warne hailed the Indian side for showing ‘great character’ and for fighting against all odds to win this match. He wrote:
“What a test match at Lords. Great pitch, great cricket & great character shown by India. Remember they lost the toss, got sent in, gave up a 1st inn lead & today everyone thought Pant out & Eng win! India fought hard & deserved the win. India should be 2-0 up.”
