The former Pakistani leg spinner Danish Kaneria has laid big accusations on the former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and has said that Afridi used to be involved in conspiracy against him when the two of them used to play department cricket together in the domestic circuit of Pakistan.
According to Danish Kaneria, Shahid Afridi is someone who lacks character. He was the captain of the departmental team which Kaneria was a part of and Afridi wouldn’t just keep Kaneria on the bench most of the time, because of complete dislike, but he also used to go to the other players and provoke them against Kaneria.
Kaneria revealed, while speaking on Sports Tak, that Shoaib Akhtar was the only Pakistani player who tried to come out in his support because he had seen everything that had happened to him during his cricketing days, but just as he said a few things in his favor, Akhtar was asked to remain quiet on the issue by the higher authorities and that’s why even he has stopped speaking in his favor now.
Danish Kaneria has accused other Pakistani players in the past as well
This is not the first time that Kaneria has accused a Pakistani player of being partial towards him. He has laid even bigger accusations in the past and has already revealed that some of the Pakistani players used to refuse to even eat with him. However, regarding Afridi, Kaneria has said that he used to keep him out of the playing XI in domestic cricket because of his dislike.
Danish Kaneria also thinks the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) treated him harshly in the match fixing saga as compared to how they treated some of the other cricketers. Kaneria insists that many fixers are freed from ban now, but he is still suffering and he requests PCB to lift his ban as well, so that he can work in peace and without any emotional baggage.
