Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik have achieved much success together. They were a part of the Indian team that won the ICC T20 World Cup in 2007. Six years later, both players won IPL 2013 with the Mumbai Indians, and just a few days later, they won the Champions Trophy with the Indian cricket team.

Dinesh Karthik and Rohit Sharma were also members of the Indian squad that won the Nidahas Trophy in 2018 by defeating Bangladesh in the final. However, after the 2019 Cricket World Cup semifinal, not once have they played together. Karthik played for Kolkata Knight Riders from 2019 to 2021, while Sharma led the Mumbai Indians.

Now, finally in 2022, the fans may see them playing together again. Not in the upcoming series against the South African cricket team, but probably in the subsequent T20I series as Karthik has been recalled to the Indian T20I squad after a long gap. The reason behind his return is his sensational batting form in the Indian Premier League.

Many fans would know that Dinesh Karthik started working as a commentator when he was not playing international cricket. In fact, he was a commentator for India’s World Test Championship Final against the New Zealand cricket team.

Around the same time in 2021, Karthik posted a photo of himself in a suit on Instagram. He was popular for his suit choices, and Rohit Sharma reminded him that he still has cricket left in him. Here’s what Rohit commented on that post: “You still have some cricket left, FYI.” Dinesh Karthik soon replied: “Don’t ever doubt that sham.”

Fans will hope that 15 years after winning T20 World Cup in South Africa, Karthik and Sharma are a part of the T20 World Cup winning team in Australia this year.
