Punjab Kings returned to the winning track last night in IPL 2022 with a 11-run victory against the Chennai Super Kings. Shikhar Dhawan won the Man of the Match award for his fantastic innings of 88 runs at the top. Dhawan opened the innings for PBKS and remained not out till the end. While Dhawan stole the show in the first innings, it was Ambati Rayudu who wowed everyone in the second innings.
Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. Dhawan’s brilliant fifty inspired the Punjab Kings to a 187-run total in the first innings. He received great support from Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who aggregated 42 runs off 32 deliveries. The two left-handed batters had an impressive 110-run partnership for the second wicket.
In reply, the Chennai Super Kings lost three wickets in the first seven overs. It seemed like CSK would struggle to chase the target, but Ambati Rayudu kept them alive in the contest with a top-quality innings. Rayudu scored 78 runs off just 39 balls at a strike rate of 200.
He smashed seven fours and six sixes in his 39-ball inning. Taking to Twitter after witnessing Rayudu’s aggressive knock, former PBKS batting coach Wasim Jaffer posted a photo of Rishi Dhawan wearing a face shield and wrote:
“Rayudu batting even more aggressively tonight. Rishi Dhawan’s glasses may have reminded him of something.”

Former PBKS batting coach Wasim Jaffer felt Rishi Dhawan’s face shield reminded Ambati Rayudu about 3D Glasses
While Jaffer did not mention what did the face shield remind Rayudu, fans were smart enough to pick up the hint given by him. The former PBKS batting coach joked that Rayudu might have remembered the 3D Glasses after seeing the face shield on Dhawan’s face.
Back in April 2019, Rayudu posted a tweet that he bought special 3D Glasses to watch the World Cup as the selectors picked Vijay Shankar ahead of him due to his three-dimensional skills.
