Royal Challengers Bangalore had a pretty good season in the previous edition as they qualified for the playoffs by finishing fourth on the IPL 2022 points table including eight wins and six losses.

They even eliminated Lucknow Super Giants in the first qualifier but couldn’t push too much to churn out the result they wanted in the second qualifier as they surrendered at the hands of Rajasthan Royals.

There is a bit of good balance and backup and it is just that they need a couple of players in the red-hot form which will be more than enough for them to get into the comfort space going forward in the next season.

Aakash Chopra delivers honest verdict on RCB after the IPL 2023 auction

Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer, Aakash Chopra who played for KKR and RR in his cricketing career has now delivered an honest verdict on RCB after the conclusion of the IPL 2023 mini-auction that was held in Kochi on December 23.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the cricket analyst has reviewed RCB’s attitude in the auction and also cited the franchise’s hunt for a middle-order batter.

He further added that RCB were in search of a middle-order batter and for that, they went after the likes of Harry Brook, Mayank Agarwal, Sam Curran, Cameron Green, Ben Stokes and even Manish Pandey.

However, they couldn’t afford any of them because they had only INR 8.75 crore left in their wallet. Chopra further added that won’t even get their shadows with that much money.

Despite having a thin budget, Royal Challengers Bangalore did have a decent auction by buying as many as seven players. Now, the RCB franchise were left with INR 1.75 crore remaining in their pocket.

According to Chopra, RCB does have good players in their squad but would certainly miss a good middle-order batsman in the forthcoming season of the IPL.
