Premier Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is all set to be ruled out of the T20 World Cup 2022 with the knee injury that he suffered during the Asia Cup 2022.
Ravindra Jadeja injured himself during water activities in Dubai
In what has been the latest development, it is learned that Jadeja injured himself during a water activity on Team India’s day off in the Asia Cup 2022. The all-rounder was enjoying his time on the ski board, on which he slipped and twisted his knee.
The all-rounder was immediately ruled out of the tournament and was forced to undergo surgery. The southpaw had a successful operation but as per the reports in TOI, he’s unlikely to recover on time and get fit for the T20 World Cup 2022.

When Jadeja was ruled out of the Asia Cup, many felt that the all-rounder suffered an injury during the training session but this wasn’t the case. A source in BCCI revealed that the governing body is unhappy as the injury could’ve been avoided and allowed him to play Asia Cup and World Cup. Speaking to TOI, he said:
“He had to balance himself on some kind of a ski-board as part of an adventure activity – not part of the training manual at all. It was absolutely unnecessary. He slipped and twisted his knee badly, which led to surgery. The injury could have been avoided, which would have allowed Jadeja to play in the Asia Cup 2022 Super 4 round as well as the ICC T20 World Cup 2022.” Source said.
BCCI is unhappy with Rahul Dravid not reacting to the situation
Source also revealed that BCCI is surprised with head coach Rahul Dravid not losing his cool on how the injury happened. He said:
“What’s surprising here is, that Head Coach Rahul Dravid hasn’t ‘lost his cool’ given how the injury occurred. Ideally, one would have expected Dravid to question this entire process.”

If the reports turn out to be true then it will be a massive blow for Team India. His presence on the team provides a different kind of balance to the team. His ability to bat and bowl equally well has won India many games. It remains to be seen if he recovers well in the time ahead of the marquee tournament.
