Each franchise can retain six players before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. Some teams might choose not to take it until the auctions to buy back players using the RTM Card. Out of these six players, a minimum of one player has to be uncapped. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of three teams which could retain 6 players before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions.

1) Mumbai Indians

Mumbai Indians have always had galacticos on the squad. Yes, there are reports of some being unhappy mainly because of the captaincy issue. However, Mumbai Indians has a management that can pull off such things and you can expect them to do it again.

Releasing either of Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav or Jasprit Bumrah will be a big mistake. Rohit Sharma can also be retained because of his current good form. Tilak Varma is a must while Nehal Wadhera can be the uncapped retention.

2) Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals is one of the teams which could retain 6 players before IPL 2025 Mega Auctions. They have been one of the consistent teams in the last three editions. Rahul Dravid might want to continue with the core.

Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag are non-negotiables. Jos Buttler is also very important. Sandeep Sharma can be the uncapped retention. The team could retain another uncapped player like Tanush Kotian or trust a capped cricketer like Yuzvendra Chahal or Avesh Khan.

3) Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR strongly wanted a Mini Auction before IPL 2025. However, that did not happen. Now, despite the tricky retention rules, the franchise could be insistent on retaining the core.

Shreyas Iyer, Sunil Narine, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell and Harshit Rana are a must. Suyash Sharma could be an uncapped option if Harshit gets capped. Phil Salt should also be a priority for the franchise.
