Royal Challengers Bangalore had some major changes in their line-up before the auctions. Now, all eyes would be on how they would turn up at the tournament next year. On that note, here, we predict RCB’s playing XI for IPL 2024.
Openers: Faf du Plessis (C) and Virat Kohli
Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli will yet again open the batting in RCB’s playing XI for IPL 2024. This duo had a wonderful time last season. Now, they will have to step up again in IPL 2024. Considering the inexperienced bowling line-up, their jobs will be tougher in IPL 2024.
Middle-Order: Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik (WK)
The return of Rajat Patidar is good for RCB. At No.3, they now have a reliable cricketer, whom they can back for the majority of the season. If he comes good, RCB will do well. Dinesh Karthik will start as the first choice for RCB. If he has form or fitness issues, Anuj Rawat will get a chance.
All-Rounders: Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green
This area will be the strength of the side. While they can set the tournament on fire with their batting, it will be their bowling that must step up. Both of them should together contribute close to five overs. This will define the season for the side.
Bowlers: Mayank Dagar, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Dayal and Karn Sharma
Lockie Ferguson is likely to get the nod ahead of Alzarri Joseph in the RCB’s playing XI for IPL 2024. Alzarri has less experience compared to Lockie. Hence, this decision. Siraj will lead the attack and Yash Dayal will share the new ball with him. RCB do not have too many spin options. Hence, they need to go with Karn Sharma and Mayank Dagar. The likes of Mahipal Lomror, Akash Deep and V Vyshak could be used as the impact players.
