The most difficult Test for the Indian Cricket Team is just around the corner. The much anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will decide the fate of the final of the World Test Championship, is just around the corner. Both Australia and India are red-hot favourites to play the summit clash but nothing can be predicted in the game of cricket.
Predicting Indian Playing 11 for the first Test against Australia
The first game between India and Australia will be played on February 9th in Nagpur followed by the second Test to be played on 17th February in Delhi. The third game between India and Australia is slated to take place on 1st March in Dharamshala whereas the last game will be played on 9th March in Ahmedabad.
There’s no brainer that skipper Rohit Sharma will open the innings in the first Test against Australia. The right-hander will be extremely crucial to India’s chances as he averages 55.43 in Tests since 2019. However, there’ll be a tussle between KL Rahul and Shubman Gill for the second opening place. But with Rahul being the vice-captain, it is likely that he will get a nod ahead.
MS Dhoni has won most Tests as captain in the history of Border Gavaskar Trophy history.

There’s no brainer that Cheteshwar Pujara along with Virat Kohli will bat at No.3 and No.4 respectively. The duo has been the lynchpin of the Indian batting lineup in the longest format of the game and they both will be crucial to India’s chances in the series.
Shreyas Iyer reportedly has been ruled out of the first Test due to a knee injury. Therefore it’ll be a headache for management to draft someone in the XI. It is likely that Shubman Gill will bat in the middle at No.5. There were early early reports that the team wants him to bat in the middle.
With no Rishabh Pant there, KS Bharat is likely to make his debut and keep the wickets whereas Ravindra Jadeja is also likely to be back for the first game and play a crucial role with the bat and ball.
R Ashwin will form a spin attack alongside Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav whereas Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami are expected to be the two frontline pacers in the team.
