IPL and PSL are two leagues which are always a topic of discussion as far as Indian and Pakistani cricketing circles are concerned. While some Pakistani fans think that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is better than the Indian Premier League (IPL), the truth is that the IPL is way ahead of PSL in terms of brand value and salaries to players.
Both the leagues had their respective player auction and player draft in the month of December. The Indian Premier League has 10 teams right now. They spent 167 crore to sign 80 players at the auction. On the other hand, multiple players earned contracts from PSL teams as well in the draft that happened in December.
There is a fixed salary system in the PSL Draft. As per Sports Payouts, the salary of the highest-paid players in the PSL, which is the Diamond category, is USD 170,000 (approximately INR 1.4 crore). Players like Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Haider Ali, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Nawaz are in that category.
There are some common players in the IPL and PSL. Interestingly, some IPL players have a massive difference in the salaries as far as their earnings in the Pakistan Super League are concerned. In this article now, we will look at two such overseas players whose Pakistan Super League salaries are less than 10% of their IPL salary.
