The way Suryakumar Yadav is hitting right now has him feeling great. He made this claim after hitting an unbeaten 111 off 51 balls to help India reach 191-6 in the second T20I against New Zealand at Mount Maunganui.

He also elaborated on his decision to bat cautiously until the 17th over. He had 57 runs on 35 balls at the end of the 16th over, before smashing 54 runs off 16 balls in the final overs.

For T20 Internationals in 2022, Suryakumar has scored 1151 runs (including this innings) at a strike rate of 188.37, including two hundred, nine fifties, and a staggering 67 sixes. This has made him the best T20I batter in the world. Of those, 239 were scored in the recently concluded T20 World Cup, giving him the highest strike rate among the 144 batters who scored 10 or more runs and placing him in a tie for third place in terms of total.

Despite his best efforts, Suryakumar was unable to match Kohli’s all-time record for India’s highest ever score by a batter for the Men in Blue team. His score of 122 not out against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup is currently at the top of the list, while Suryakumar’s score of 111* is currently in fourth place on the list.

The Indian batting lineup was 108 for 3 in the 13th over at Mount Maunganui when Hardik came out to join Suryakumar. Virat Kohli has heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav’s innings in the second T20I against New Zealand. He said that he has not watched it live but he believes that it would be yet another video game innings.

He tweeted: “Numero Uno showing why he’s the best in the world. Didn’t watch it live but I’m sure this was another video game innings by him. @surya_14kumar
