Virat Kohli took the cricket fraternity by storm with his stellar batting masterclass in the third and final ODI against the Sri Lankan cricket team that was held in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday.
The right-handed batter composed his innings with class, grit, determination and aggression. As a result, he succeeded in taking Sri Lanka’s bowling attack to the cleaners on the match day.
He literally toyed with the opposition batsmen by scoring runs at the rate of knots by maintaining a strike rate of 150.91. The world-class batsman scored 166 off 110 balls with the help of 13 fours and 8 sixes, maintaining a prolific strike rate in excess of 150.
Ahmad Shehzad credits Virat Kohli after he scored his 46th ODI century
The Sri Lankan bowlers literally found it very hard to stop Virat Kohli who was ticking the flow of runs with ease in the dead rubber. After Kohli brought up his 46th ODI century, Ahmad Shahzad credited Virat Kohli for his stellar innings.
Ahmad Shehzad reminded the naysayers and critics by posting a special tweet on Virat Kohli. He took to his official Twitter handle and wrote that Virat Kohli is well and truly back and added that the run-machine scored his third century in the last four ODIs.
His tweet received around 34k likes on the Twitter portal. Kohli propelled Team India’s total to 390/5 in their quota of 50 overs. On the contrary, Sri Lanka could muster only 73 runs as India registered the biggest-ever win of 317 runs in the history of ODIs.
Meanwhile, Ahmad Shehzad is not part of the national cricket team as his last international appearance came against Sri Lanka during a T20I in 2019.
Since then, he has been playing only domestic cricket. The 31-year-old was retained by Central Punjab for the 2020–21 domestic season. The Lahore-born cricketer was selected to represent Colombo Stars in the wake of the players’ draft for the 2021 edition of Sri Lanka’s premier T20 competition, Lanka Premier League.

Ahmed, you were compared to him when you both started your careers. He's achieving his dreams, contributing towards wins, making tons, and you're here tweeting just to realize people that Kohli is never finished. IRONY. Discipline has been the difference. Hope to see you back!
