Mostly, pacers are getting injured and some of the premium Indian pacers such as Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna will also be out of action. Therefore, there is a lot of demand for capped Indian pacers who were unsold in IPL 2023 Auctions. One of the in-demand cricketers is former Punjab Kings pacer, Sandeep Sharma. The player, who also represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past, is experienced in the IPL. He has good numbers to show but has somehow not been in form in recent months. Sandeep is good in the powerplay but has found ways to disturb his figures when he bowls at the death or in the middle overs. Nevertheless, with the ‘Impact Rule’, such players will be useful for a team.
Prasidh Krishna will not play in IPL 2023. It is a big blow for RR because the player was in good form last season. The team would now have issues in the death overs and they will now have to rely on the inexperienced Kuldeep Sen as the hit-the-deck option in the unit. Sandeep Sharma is now likely to replace Prasidh for RR. It would be a good opportunity for the player to express himself in the powerplay and pick some crucial wickets.
