The CSK allrounder Moeen Ali has said that even though CSK has lost many games this IPL season and their qualification hopes are now hanging by a thin thread, they can still focus on finishing the season on a high and gaining a bit of momentum that might help them in the next season.
Recalling the 2020 IPL season where CSK had failed to qualify to the IPL playoffs for the first time in their history, Moeen Ali said that once the team was eliminated from the league that year, they brought Ruturaj Gaikwad into the playing XI and Ruturaj scored three back to back match winning fifties which allowed CSK finish the season on a high.
And, then when the men in yellow turned up next season, they looked a completely different unit with a couple of new signings, one of which was Moeen Ali himself.
Moeen thinks it can happen again this season. Whether CSK qualifies to the playoffs or not, they can gather some momentum for the next season with performances from the whole unit including the youngsters.
Moeen Ali was full of praise for the young left-arm pacer Mukesh Choudhary
Talking about Mukesh Choudhary, another youngster who is playing in the IPL for the first time for CSK, Moeen said Mukesh might have been a bit nervous at the start, but has performed well of late and the performances from youngsters like him can rejuvenate the team, like Rutu’s performances rejuvenated the team towards the end of 2020 season.

CSK has won only 3 games and has already lost 7 games in IPL 2022 so far. Now not only do they need to win all their remaining 4 games by decent margins, they also need a lot of other results to go in their favor to have any slight chance of playoffs qualification.
CSK’s current position in the points table is no. 9 and the only team below them is Mumbai Indians.
