The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League is currently underway in Maharashtra, where the fans are witnessing some top-quality matches every night. However, the form of champion players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma is not up to the mark. Both superstars have struggled to get going this season.
While Kohli has managed only 119 runs in eight matches, Sharma has scored 114 runs in seven games. Both star batters are yet to register a half-century in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League.
Considering the fact that the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is scheduled to happen later this year in Australia, many Indian cricket fans are worried about the decline in the numbers of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Former Delhi Capitals star Amit Mishra recently gave his view on the decline in Virat and Rohit’s performances. Here’s what he wrote on Twitter:
“They might not be performing today, but one must not forget how hard both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli practice and that is the reason they are still the best batsmen today. So let’s support our champions when they need it the most.”

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have multiple chances to regain their form before ICC T20 World Cup
It is a known fact that any champion player needs only one innings to regain his form. The same should be the case with Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who are currently having a tough time scoring runs in IPL and international cricket as well.
Both players will play at least six-seven more matches in IPL 2022. Also, the Indian cricket team will play a 5-match T20I series against the South African cricket team immediately after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League. It will be interesting to see how Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma perform in the T20 World Cup.
