Indian keeper batter Rishabh Pant had a sensational day behind the stumps for India. The keeper batter was part of the two dismissals that put his side in the top position on Day 4. Defending the target of 513 runs, the visitors have reduced the opposition to 272/6 and are just 4 wickets away from the win.
Out of the 6 wickets that fell on Day 4, Pant played a crucial part in the two. He first, grabbed a staggering catch to send well-set Najmul Shanto back in the hut for 63 runs. It was during the 47th over when Umesh Yadav bowled a short of a length from round the wicket around the fifth-sixth stump zone, to which the batter pushed.
He got a thick outside edge that went to the right of the first slip, where Virat Kohli was stationed. It was a regulation catch but Kohli made a mess of it as it popped out of his hand. Pant, however, showed great presence of mind to dive across and took the catch on the second attempt.
However, after that during the 87th over, Pant dropped a chance too as he missed the difficult catch of Mushfiqur Rahim. But the keeper was quick to redeem himself as he then produced a Ms Dhoni-like lightning stumping to send Nurul Hasan packing.
It was in the 88th over when Axar Patel bowled a fuller delivery to Nurul Hasan, who just put a step out of the crease to defend it. The ball spun away and went past the outside edge. But Pant sniffed in the opportunity to stump out the batter in the blink of an eye.
