On the fourth morning in Dhaka, Shreyas Iyer and R Ashwin guided India to a narrow three-wicket triumph despite a lower-order collapse. The surface was turning and low. India started the second innings needing 100 runs and Bangladesh needed six wickets to win. After Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s five-for gave the hosts an excellent opportunity with early wickets, Ashwin and Iyer showed patience, compensated for the low bounce, and scored at a respectable pace (almost four runs per over) to get India over the finish line before the planned lunch break.
India improved their standing in the WTC table by 2-0, and they face Australia in a home 4-Test series in which they can afford to lose no more than two games.
In the opening hour of the match, India was 74 for 7, still, 71 runs behind the objective, when Iyer and Ashwin joined forces to help. As the Bangladesh spinners maintained the stump-to-stump line that had gotten them three wickets in the morning, Iyer used his straight bat to play out the spinners patiently and Ashwin adopted a low stance for the low bounce, notably against Mehidy.
In fact, when Ashwin was 1 and India was 80, Mehidy set up an opportunity by getting him to glove the ball to the short leg, where Mominul Haque put down a simple chance. Ashwin, like Bangladesh on Saturday, made India pay for the opportunities they missed by scoring regularly until he reached double figures. Ashwin reached an unbroken 42 off 62 balls while Iyer was still in the game on 29. He scored two runs in an over from Khaled Ahmed and then won the game with a 16-run over from Mehidy that included a six over midwicket and two more fours.
Fast bowler Umesh Yadav has been in sensational form in this test series against Bangladesh. He also set up a game with a four-wicket haul in the first innings of the second Test. Umesh Yadav has taken the most wickets among fast bowlers in Asia in the last 5 years in Tests.

He should have been a regular in sub-continent conditions. Shami and Bumrah will break down often in these conditions as they are not natural athletes to bowl long spells. Rotate others play him for every test in Asia
