Royal Challengers Bangalore have played eight games so far this season where they managed to win four games and lost the other four games at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Recently, they defeated Rajasthan Royals at home and notched up their fourth win. Needless to say, they failed to operate as a team while playing against Kolkata Knight Riders at their den tonight.
Virat Kohli who led the team as interim captain won the toss and opted to bowl first. Meanwhile, KKR posted 200/5 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. KKR largely benefitted from the services of Jason Roy and Nitish Rana as they chipped in with quickfire contributions of 56 and 48 runs respectively.
Nitish Rana and Co complete a double over Royal Challengers Bangalore
In response, Royal Challengers Bangalore did manage to start off well but lost key wickets at crucial junctures. They were unable to cling on to the shape and momentum of the game as they played right into the hands of KKR.
Meanwhile, KKR bowlers chipped in with disciplinary bowling performances. As a result, they were able to restrict RCB to 179/8 in 20 overs. Varun Chakaravarthy was the pick of the bowlers for KKR as he accounted for three dismissals, giving away 27 runs in four overs.
Rightly so, he was adjudged the Player of the Match for his bowling performance. Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the game by 21 runs at home. This is also their second straight defeat against KKR this season. KKR were clinical and comprehensive against RCB in the first and second leg. KKR won the first leg by 81 runs at Eden Gardens.

But you are literally hurting us..no change in the middle order from the past couple of games even though it wasn't worked well. Please make some replacements and good decisions. We want to grab the tittle this year for sure. RCB❤️KGF❤️
