Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli is one of the best in the business when it comes to anchoring the innings across all three formats of the game. Whenever he comes out to bat, the first thing he does is assess the conditions and go about his business.
Notably, he has quite often succeeded in dominating the opposition teams with premier batting performances. The right-handed batsman literally put up a great show in the ODI series against the Sri Lankan cricket team.
During the first ODI against the Sri Lankan cricket team in Guwahati, he scored his 45th ODI century. Although he didn’t bring the best out of himself in the second ODI at Eden Gardens, he switched gears and scored his 46th ODI century during the third and final ODI at Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.
Virat Kohli possesses an insane stat in his cricketing career
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli’s ODI centuries alone are more than the international centuries of any existing player in the modern era, which clearly goes to show his standards.
The right-handed batsman notched up his 74th international century in the third ODI. He is second on the list in terms of the most centuries scored in international cricket. Sachin Tendulkar tops the list with 100 centuries in international cricket (51 centuries in Tests, 49 centuries in ODIs).
On the other hand, Virat Kohli is only three centuries away from equalling Sachin Tendulkar’s tally of 49 ODI centuries. Earlier, the 34-year-old also shattered the Master Blaster’s record of most ODI hundreds at home with his 21st century in 101 games.
Moreover, it was also his 10th century against the Sri Lankan cricket team, which is the most by any player in international cricket. Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 166 off 110 balls including 13 fours and 8 sixes and helped Team India post 390/5 in their quota of 50 overs.
In response, Sri Lanka were skittled out for a mere 73 as Team India recorded the biggest-ever win in One-Day Internationals. Rohit Sharma and Co won the third ODI by a huge margin of 317 runs.

This Virat Kohli could be more threatening than the 2016 version of him. In the kind of form, he is in, the opposition needs extra homework to get him.
If I say a statement resembling his form, it should be "They call him OG".#ViratKohli𓃵— Akshay kumar (@akshaykumark95) January 16, 2023
