Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting has lavished rich praise on the batter Prithvi Shaw. He said that fans are going to see the real of him this season as he looks in good shape than before.

Prithvi Shaw to play a crucial role for Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is all set to kick start from 31st March. Talking about Delhi Capitals they will open their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on the 1st April. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, the onus will be on the few layers and one among them is Prithvi Shaw.

The batter is rated as one of the best youngsters in the country and is known for his aggressive style of batting. Shaw has been the lynchpin of the DC’s batting lineup of late and has been providing them with the rollicking start top the order.

Shaw has been in staggering form in the domestic circuit and has been batting exceptionally well. He made a comeback into the Indian side after almost 1.5 years as he was selected for the Indian team for the series against New Zealand. Although he didn’t get the chance to play but he looked in fine touch in the nets.

Shaw will play a crucial role for the team in this year’s IPL. He along with skipper David Warner is expected to give their team a solid start and set the platform for the other batters.

He said: “I think we are going to see the real Prithvi Shaw this season. He’s in a better physical shape than I’ve ever seen him before,” says Ricky Ponting.”

Prithvi Shaw so far has scored 1588 runs in 69 games in the IPL at a staggering strike rate of 147.45. Also, he has 12 half-centuries to his name.
