Shubman Gill who is currently playing for Gujarat Titans hogged the limelight for his stunning performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The right-handed batsman operated very well on a tough batting track where he scored his maiden IPL century in the home fixture. He chipped in with 101 off 58 balls where he composed his innings with the help of 13 fours and a six.
His spectacular innings powered Gujarat Titans to 188/9 in their quota of 20 overs. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad lacked the firepower to ace the run-chase as they ended up at 154/9 in 20 overs.
Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with 64 off 44 balls and apart from him, no other batter lived up to their reputation. In the end, Gujarat Titans won the game by 34 runs and became the first team to qualify for the IPL 2023 playoffs.
Meanwhile, former RCB captain Virat Kohli took to his Instagram handle and posted a special story on Shubman Gill along with a caption which reads, “There is potential and then there is Gill. Go and lead the next generation. God bless you @Shubmangill”.
