The all-important IPL 2023 mini-auction is currently being broadcasted in multiple languages across India. The auction is taking place in Kochi and the franchises have been a tad busy in signing the marquee players today.

Chennai Super Kings, the second-most successful franchise in the history of the IPL neither had plans nor had the intent to win games in the last edition of the IPL as they hardly live up to their reputation.

They have won only four games and lost the rest of the 10 games in the group stage as they finished 9th on the points table. CSK might have failed to qualify for the playoffs but they will ensure to get their job done in the next season.

CSK also expressed a great deal of interest to go for Sam Curran but in the end, Punjab Kings roped him in for a record fee of INR 18.50 crore. After failing to secure Curran, CSK gave it all to sign Ben Stokes.

CSK team management splashed the cash to sign the England international for INR 16.25 crore, which means that Ben Stokes will be the most expensive player for CSK, edging past Deepak Chahar.

After CSK signed Rahane and Stokes, fans took to their social media handles and reminded the cricket fraternity of the Rising Pune Supergiant franchise when MS Dhoni, Ajinkya Rahane and Ben Stokes played for the same team.

During the IPL 2017 season, Rising Pune Supergiant made it all the way to the finals of the competition but surrendered at the hands of the Mumbai Indians.
