Chennai Super Kings locked horns with Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final at the world’s largest cricket stadium – Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. CSK captain MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Gujarat Titans scored just four runs in the first over but they switched gears when it mattered the most. CSK bowlers found it literally tough to keep the GT batters in check during the game.

As it turned out, Gujarat Titans went on to post a huge total of 214/4 in their quota of 20 overs. Sai Sudharsan top-scored with 96 off 47 balls including 8 fours and 6 hits over the fence.

Wriddhiman Saha chipped in with 54 off 39 balls including five boundaries and a six. In response, the rain halted play and the game was stopped for quite a while, which forced the match officials to bring the DLS method into the picture. The target was revised to 171 for 15 overs.

The yellow army led by MS Dhoni aced the run-chase in the last ball. CSK beat GT by five wickets. Chennai Super Kings won their fifth IPL title by defeating Gujarat Titans in the final.

MS Dhoni and Co truly deserved this result and it was indeed a heartbreaking ending for Gujarat Titans as they lost the game in the final delivery.
