Chennai Super Kings were proactive in buying the right players that fit their bill at the IPL 2023 mini-auction that concluded in Kochi on December 23, 2022. CSK came under fire for their terrible performances in the last season.
The four-time IPL champions lost the plot completely as they hardly churned out results in the IPL 2022 season. They ended up in 9th place on the points table as they accumulated only four wins and lost the rest of the 10 games.
Meanwhile, in the latest development, New Zealand international Kyle Jamieson is likely to be ruled out of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.
Kyle Jamieson likely to be ruled out of IPL 2023
In what comes as a massive blow to Chennai Super Kings, Kyle Jamieson will not deliver the goods for the franchise in the sixteenth season. Jamieson is all set to undergo surgery for his ‘injured back’.
It means that he is set to be sidelined for at least four months. The New Zealand cricketer was out of cricketing action with a back injury for nearly seven months.
After being out of competitive cricket for a long time now, he was expecting to make a comeback to international cricket in the ongoing two-match Test series between England and New Zealand.
However, the all-rounder was ruled out of the first Test after he was picked in the squad for England’s tour of New Zealand (Two Tests). Meanwhile, the head coach of the New Zealand cricket team, Gary Stead confirmed on Monday that the all-rounder will require surgery in order to treat the injured back.
Chennai Super Kings recruited the services of Kyle Jamieson for INR 1 crore at the IPL 2023 auction. The New Zealand all-rounder set his base price at Rs 1 crore while registering his name at the auction and CSK bought the all-rounder at his base price.

It won't affect CSK much. Anyway he won't be in the playing 11. Lots of good overseas fast bowlers available for replacement.

Its a good news
He never played new zealand for one year in test
And also he is not so effective in white ball cricket comparing to red ball cricket 👍
Hoping for good replacement— Dr.MRK (@dr_mrk_99) February 20, 2023

Actually it is good for CSK, now they can try atleast to get a pace bowler in replacement. Tough it is very unfortunate with Jamieson
