Meanwhile, in the latest development, New Zealand international Kyle Jamieson is likely to be ruled out of the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League.

In what comes as a massive blow to Chennai Super Kings, Kyle Jamieson will not deliver the goods for the franchise in the sixteenth season. Jamieson is all set to undergo surgery for his ‘injured back’.

It means that he is set to be sidelined for at least four months. The New Zealand cricketer was out of cricketing action with a back injury for nearly seven months.

After being out of competitive cricket for a long time now, he was expecting to make a comeback to international cricket in the ongoing two-match Test series between England and New Zealand.

However, the all-rounder was ruled out of the first Test after he was picked in the squad for England’s tour of New Zealand (Two Tests). Meanwhile, the head coach of the New Zealand cricket team, Gary Stead confirmed on Monday that the all-rounder will require surgery in order to treat the injured back.

Chennai Super Kings recruited the services of Kyle Jamieson for INR 1 crore at the IPL 2023 auction. The New Zealand all-rounder set his base price at Rs 1 crore while registering his name at the auction and CSK bought the all-rounder at his base price.
