In what has been the biggest positive for the Indian cricket team, former Indian skipper Virat Kohli seems to have found his rhythm back and has started to score runs yet again. Following the England tour, where he miserably failed, the 33-year-old took a short break from cricket and revealed that he was mentally down and didn’t want to play.

The Delhi batter then made his comeback in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 and so far in the two innings he played, he looked impressive. India’s game against Pakistan marked Kohli’s return to cricket after a break. He did look sloppy initially but as he found his mojo he looked pleasing to the eyes and played a couple of mouth-watering shots.

Kohli scored crucial 35 runs against Pakistan and he then followed his decent outing with the bat against arch-rivals with staggering innings against Hong Kong. Coming to bat at No.3, the former Indian skipper looked very settled at the crease and played a sensational knock to give a reply to his haters.

“I like the manner in which he scored 34 against Pakistan and a half-century against Hong Kong. He was sure to make a comeback. He is slowly recovering from a tough phase which is a great sign for India. Cricket fans worldwide want to see him score and continue his form,” Inzamam Ul Haq said.

Inzamam Ul Haq surprised to see Virat Kohli not scoring century for more than 1000 days

Kohli has been struggling to score a century since 2019. Things were getting worse for him as he even failed to score half-centuries. However, his knock against Pakistan and Hong Kong would have definitely given him confidence.

Inzamam highlighted that although every player goes through a lean patch but he was surprised to see Kohli not scoring a century for more than 1000 days.

“It looks like he is coming back to form. All players go through a lean patch but [they] return to their best in a month or two or maybe a series or two. It’s the first instance that such a great player took a long time and was unable to score a century in over 1000 days,” Inzamam Ul Haq said.
