“When you regret getting caught by Vijay Shankar more than missing a 50”, Twitter still to believe Gujarat’s love affair with Vijay Shankar

This IPL has seen former stars of the shortest format of the sport regain their form while for a few, the limbo has continued as their nosedive into a downward spiral gets from bad to worse. One such sad state of affairs is that of Vijay Shankar as the all-rounder is digging his grave far deeper than usual.

IPL 2022 has seen stars like Shivam Dube, Robin Uthappa, and Dinesh Karthik piece together their flailing career while for Vijay Shankar it has been an identical tale of woes and agony as the all-rounder simply has no clue whatsoever about what really is his problem.

This is what Twitter had to say about Vijay Shankar

He has tried for sure to break the jinx but his indecisiveness to act on cue is backfiring and his body language somehow doesn’t seem good enough to create ripples around his presence. He is torn between the dilemma of going for it on all cylinders and hanging in the middle to piece an anchoring knock that can bring out the best of the game.

Despite the problem seemingly being a fall from mediocre grace, the complexity is rooted far deeper than what meets the eye. It feels as if he is lacking guidance and his compatriots have shown very little compassion towards him that can at least make one understand what is the right direction for him.

So far in the ongoing IPL, his contributions are 4, 11, 2 and 0, and yet there are hardly any signs of improvement in the latter’s way of approaching things. With the sport getting a lot more competitive with every passing day, if Shankar doesn’t come up with something significant in the near future if the Titans do continue to show faith in him, then his cricketing career may very well be headed towards an unwanted end.

Twitter was absolutely not happy about his displays and has also voiced out the strongest of opinions so far about the all-rounder.
