The CSK skipper MS Dhoni hardly ever loses his cool while leading his teams on the ground, but he seemed a bit agitated with one of his young bowlers Mukesh Choudhary in the last over of the last night’s game against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

MS Dhoni took charge of CSK again from Ravindra Jadeja in the middle of the IPL 2022 season and the men in yellow put a huge score on the board straightaway, as the old skipper returns at helm. It was the third time in this year’s IPL that CSK crossed the score of 200.

And, thereafter, CSK defended it well too. In the last over of the game, SRH required 38 runs which wasn’t possible without the bowler bowling a no ball and allowing them an extra delivery which Mukesh didn’t do.

But, Dhoni wanted Mukesh, who had already taken 4 wickets in the game, to bowl outside the off stump so that the batsman on strike, Nicholas Pooran, had to hit towards the bigger boundary.

Mukesh Choudhary erred towards leg side in 20th over which MS Dhoni didn’t like

Mukesh Choudhary, however, bowled a wide ball towards the leg side off the fourth ball of the over. It was not the wide ball which irked Dhoni, but it was the fact that Mukesh deviated from the gameplan is what the skipper didn’t like.

When Mukesh bowled outside off stump and it went for a four, Dhoni was still clapping because that was the gameplan given to Mukesh and he was bowling accordingly.

But, as Mukesh erred with his line, Dhoni lost his cool for the first time in the game and gestured towards Mukesh, slightly angrily, to bowl outside the off-stump so that if Pooran had to go for a big shot, he had to clear a bigger boundary as compared to the shorter boundary on the leg side.

CSK eventually won the game by 13 runs and kept themselves alive in the tournament, at least for the time being.
