
Indian captain Rohit Sharma is currently part of the ongoing ODI series against Bangladesh. Under his captaincy, the Men in Blue were on the verge of winning the first game but Bangladesh snatched the win from India’s hands.
Mehidy Hasan played a match-winning knock of 38 runs as he stayed unbeaten throughout the game and helped the team clinch the game by 1 wicket at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.
Meanwhile, the second ODI between India and Bangladesh is currently taking place at the same venue. Bangladesh captain Litton Das won the toss and opted to bat first against India.
2022 has been disappointing for Rohit Sharma and India
Indian captain Rohit Sharma sustained an untimely injury during the second ODI while trying to take a catch at the slip. The incident happened during the fourth ball of the second over bowled by Mohammed Siraj.
Rohit Sharma’s finger was bleeding and he immediately left the field to seek medication. Later on, it was confirmed that Rohit Sharma went to the hospital for scans.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul led the team from the front in Rohit Sharma’s absence and Bangladesh posted 271/7 in their designated quota of 50 overs. Mehidy Hasan top-scored with an unbeaten 100 off 83 balls (8 fours, 4 sixes).
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma didn’t come out to bat as an opener and his injury status is not known yet. Overall, 2022 has been a disappointing year for Rohit Sharma and India.
The Men in Blue were eliminated from Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2022 under Rohit’s captaincy. Moreover, he hasn’t been in good form with the bat in recent past games.
