2022 has been the year of David Miller. The South African cricket team star was written off by many fans and critics a couple of years ago. He even went unsold in the opening round of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction, but he brought his ‘A-game to the table while playing for the Gujarat Titans and has continued the same for the South African cricket team at the international level as well.

Last night, the South African cricket team battled against the Indian cricket team in the first T20I of their five-match series. The Proteas won the toss and elected to field first. India posted 211 runs in their 20 overs. Chasing 212 to win, South Africa lost their first three wickets before crossing the 100-run mark.

David Miller then arrived in the middle and smashed 64 runs off just 31 deliveries to help the Proteas win the game by seven wickets. The southpaw whacked four fours and five sixes in his match-winning knock. He has rightfully adjudged the Player of the Match.

When asked about the technical changes that Miller made to his game this year, Steyn hilariously replied:

“I think it’s confidence. He’s always had that six-hitting ability. I can’t see any difference technically.” He joked, “Maybe I’ll have to give his dad a call and find out what technical difference he’s made. Now, he seems to be hitting boundaries when he wants to. If he feels under pressure, he can hit the ball for six.”
