2 players who might be dropped to include Ishan Kishan in the playing XI for future games

With the top-order failing against Pakistan, it was Ishan Kishan who stepped up to counter-attack on Saturday. Not many expected him to do that, especially because he was in the playing XI only because KL Rahul was absent. That said, his form and his mindset might actually help the Indian Team. However, it would be a headache for the management to slot him in the playing XI. On that note, here, we take a look at two players who might be dropped to include Ishan Kishan in the playing XI for future games.

1) KL Rahul

In the first place, it was due to KL Rahul being unavailable that Ishan Kishan got a chance in the playing XI. Hence, it may not be a surprise if the management retains this combination even after KL Rahul comes back.

KL has been unfit for a while and it is not sure he could handle the wicket-keeping duties well. In this regard, Ishan could get his chance, if he can be consistent. KL Rahul has been a fulcrum in the middle-order for a while now. Yes, India would miss his services but Ishan stepping up the way he did against Pakistan should also be noticed.

2) Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill is also one of the players who might be dropped to include Ishan Kishan in the playing XI for future games. The youngster has been struggling for runs for a while now. A break might help, especially with Kishan doing his job well.

Gill just needs a game to get back his form. He is brilliant on Indian pitches and hence, the management might hesitate to drop him. However, Ishan at the top of the order would give great balance. India can have a left-right combination at the top and will also relieve KL Rahul of his keeping duties.
