It was known that the USA would host the 2024 T20 World Cup. Hence, since they are automatically qualified, many players moved to the USA to get a chance to be a part of the squad. While some such as Corey Anderson will play in the upcoming World Cup, it is not the case for many. It will be a big disappointment for these players. Here, we take a look at three cricketers who famously moved to the USA but may not get selected for the 2024 T20 World Cup.

1) Sami Aslam

Sami Aslam is one of the cricketers who famously moved to the USA but may not get selected for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Having played Test cricket for Pakistan, it is well aware that he is technically brilliant.

Sami also followed it up with decent performances at the domestic level. Yet, he did not get a go in the recent squad selected for the Canada T20I series.

2) Unmukt Chand

One of the big names to move to the USA and miss out on the World Cup squad is former India U19 World Cup captain Unmukt Chand. When he moved to the USA, it was almost obvious that the USA would consider him for the T20 World Cup.

However, he did not find a place for the series against Canada. This means that he could miss out on the eventual squad. It would be a big blow for him if that happens.

3) Shehan Jayasuriya

Hailing from Sri Lanka, Shehan Jayasuriya has been one of the most consistent performers at the domestic level. Yet, he did not get a spot in the USA Team.

The USA would have benefited from his presence. He is an aggressive left-handed batter and a decent right-arm off-spinner. These attributes would have helped the side in the case of matchups.
