Fans on Twitter reacted after Indian skipper Rohit Sharma said that he doubts that players will take a break during the IPL 2023. They took a jibe at the batter saying that he should leave others and tell everyone how many games will he take a rest in the league.
“I doubt if any player will take a break during IPL,” says Rohit Sharma
The workload of the Indian players is something that has been in the talks of late. With the team playing a massive amount of cricket in the year along with IPL, it’s fair to say that it hasn’t done any good to the players as a few of them have ended up getting injured themselves.
India has qualified for the final of the WTC 2023. They will face Australia in the summit clash between the 7th to 11th of June in Oval England. The game will hold extreme importance for the Rohit Sharma-led side as they are yet to win the ICC trophy since 2013. Also after that World Cup is in line as well.
On the other hand, IPL 2023 is also around the corner and it’s fair to say that there’ll be very less time for India to prepare for the WTC Final 2023. There have been a lot of speculations about how the team will prepare for the Test Championship and the final, considering the less gap between IPL and international cricket.
Skipper Rohit Sharma earlier said that they will send duke balls to the players and if they get time during the league, they can practice and also they will manage the workload of the players as well.
However, he now has come up with another statement. He said that although they have given some indications to the IPL franchise he doubts that players will take a break. He elaborated:
“I doubt if any player will take a break during IPL, it’s all up to franchises, they own them now but we have given some indications & more importantly it’s up to players as if they feel they are getting too much, they can take a break for 1 or 2 games”.

IPL in a world cup year is a crime , there is a important asia cup too before the world cups.
Franchise cricket can wait for 1 year , but BCCI thinks it is more important than world cup— Manish🇮🇳 (@manibhaii16) March 23, 2023

bcci will monitor "workload of players during ipl" as its worldcup https://t.co/H23ZoDSRAr wala churan khatam ho gya hai lagta

If Rohit has the guts he should ask the bcci to ask players to do so, blaming it on the players that they won't take break is like sugar coating and saving himself.

Our bcci management is so weak that our wc players are owned by them , bcci should have told them not to play ipl during the wc year , sadly after Dhoni's departure indian cricket's downfall started

They make more in IPL on a paper they make such statements but in reality it’s not gonna happen. However it’s a nice advice though.
