When it comes to being a Head Coach, age really is not a factor. Nevertheless, with experience comes a lot of learning which could help a team win the trophy. For a tournament like the IPL, tactics will alone not lead to success. Man-management, resource utilization and other factors also play a role. On that note, here, we take a look at the three oldest Head coaches in IPL 2024.

3) Andy Flower (Royal Challengers Bangalore) – April 1968

Andy Flower was recently appointed as the Head Coach of RCB. Earlier, he was the coach of LSG and helped them reach the playoffs on two occasions. He is a serial winner and one of the best tacticians in the game right now. Hence, it was not a surprise that RCB went for him.

That said, IPL 2024 will be a huge challenge for him. This time around, he does not have the best bowling attack at his disposal. Even the batting unit has some chinks and hence, Flower could have a tough time coaching the franchise.

2) Trevor Bayliss (Punjab Kings) – December 1962

One of the senior T20 coaches at the moment is Trevor Bayliss. He has won multiple trophies and has found success both at the franchise level and at the international level.

PBKS has been disappointing for a few seasons now. This is despite the team being good. If Bayliss cannot help them to the playoffs in IPL 2024, he could, as well, be sacked.

1) Chandrakant Pandit (Kolkata Knight Riders) – September 1961

Chandrakant Pandit is at the top of the list when it comes to the oldest Head coaches in IPL 2024. Having won multiple trophies at the domestic level, it was a matter of time before he got an IPL contract.

However, as a T20 coach, he did not have the best outing. Now, he has Gautam Gambhir for help. It needs to be seen if he can win IPL 2024.
