New Zealand Test skipper Tim Southee has achieved a massive feat in the longest format of the game. He over-took MS Dhoni, Kevin Pietersen and Misbah ul Haq in the six-hitters list in Test. The fast bowler achieved the milestone in the ongoing second Test against England as he added 82 sixes to his tally.

New Zealand struggled to get going in their first innings and was reduced to 103/7 in response to England’s 435 in the first innings. Skipper Southee then came out all guns blazing and went the aerial route.

He scored unbeaten 23 runs in 18 balls with the help of 2 sixes and 1 four in his innings. Southee batted extremely well on Day 2 before the umpires called stumps. He unleashed himself on Day 3 as he took bowlers to the cleaners and smashed a half-century.

Southee struck 73 runs in 49 balls that helped New Zealand go past 200 runs in the first innings. He smashed 5 fours and 9 sixes in his innings. He currently has 82 sixes and is currently 11th on the list of the most maximums in the longest format of the game. With the way he’s going in the Tests, he can easily enter the top-5.
