4 Left-Arm Fast Bowlers Who Played Only 1 Test For India

Left-arm fast bowlers have made a name for themselves with their impressive performances in all formats of international cricket. Currently, some of the top bowlers in the world are left-arm fast bowlers, namely Mitchell Starc, Trent Boult, Neil Wagner, Shaheen Shah Afridi and others.

There are no left-arm fast bowlers in the current Indian squad, but the likes of Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan achieved a lot of success while playing for the country. Zaheer and Pathan had long careers, but the following four left-arm fast bowlers have played only one Test in their international careers so far.

1. One of the top left-arm fast bowlers in India right now – T Natarajan

T Natarajan came into the spotlight after his impressive performances for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2020. He soon went to Australia as a net bowler but played in all three formats of international cricket. He played one Test in the series, where he scalped three wickets and conceded 119 runs in the game.

2. Shah Nyalchand

Shah Nyalchand made his Test debut for India back in the year 1952. He played only one game in his Test career, where he scalped three wickets at an economy rate of 1.51. He bowled an impressive spell of 3/97 against Pakistan.

3. Rashid Patel

Rashid Patel played his only Test match in the year 1988 for India. It was a match against New Zealand at Mumbai, where the fast bowler could not scalp a wicket in the 14 overs that he bowled.

4. One of the left-arm fast bowlers in India right now – Jaydev Unadkat

Jaydev Unadkat is a bowler who has done well in Ranji Trophy over the last few years, but he has not received a chance to play Test cricket since the year 2010. His only Test appearance for India came in the year 2010 against South Africa, where Unadkat conceded 101 runs but failed to take a wicket.
