India will take on the Netherlands on October 27th at the Sydney Cricket Ground. After the stupendous show against Pakistan, all the eyes will be on India’s No.3 Virat Kohli. Naturally, even the opposition will be aware of his red-hot form. In this context, Scott Edwards, the Dutch skipper, made a few interesting comments. Here, we take a look at how Twitter reacted to the Netherlands skipper’s comment hoping Virat Kohli does not repeat his performance.
The former India skipper is in top form
At 31-4, India looked out of the game against Pakistan on Sunday. However, a brilliant partnership between Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya ensured that India was close to the target. In the end, though, with Hardik also not timing the ball well, the scoreboard pressure came completely on Virat Kohli.
At one point, India had to get a few big hits and Virat delivered those. Especially in the final two balls of the 19th over against Haris Rauf, Virat Kohli left everyone shocked with his big hits. His backfoot play was immense and fans were thrilled with the show by Virat. Now, the fans will hope that the player will deliver similarly in the upcoming games and will bring the cup home.
Twitter reacts to the Netherlands skipper’s comment on Virat Kohli
The Dutch squad worked hard to reach the Super 12 stage of the tournament. However, they lost the first game to Bangladesh. To revive their campaign, a win against India is necessary. That said, it is not so easy to win against an Indian Team that is in top form.
Scott Edwards mentioned that he was hoping to not witness a Virat Kohli special against his team. To this comment, there were reactions from different directions on social media. While a few praised Virat, interestingly, a few took the opportunity to troll KL Rahul, who is known to do well against the lesser established cricketing nations. Here are some reactions in this regard:
Netherlands captain said "I hope Virat Kohli doesn't repeat the Pakistan surreal show against us".
