The cricket fraternity witnessed one heck of a roller coaster ride in the recently-concluded Southern Derby between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
It was a game that saw batters expressing themselves in full flow whereas the bowlers ran short of tricks and ideas as they were absolutely belted by the batters all over the park with relative ease.
The match saw both teams posting a 200-plus total on the board, in what was an absolute run-fest. However, in the end, Chennai Super Kings had the last laugh in the epic battle. CSK posted 226/6 in their quota of 20 overs and in reply, RCB ended up with 218/8 in 20 overs.
Chennai Super Kings notched up their third win of this season by beating Royal Challengers Bangalore by eight runs. MS Dhoni and Co are now on third on the IPL 2023 points table.

After the game, former RCB captain Virat Kohli and CSK skipper MS Dhoni were seen having a candid chat with each other as part of a friendly reunion. The pictures and the video clip of the same went viral as well.
Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni were seen hugging and embracing each other after the Southern Derby. Later on, Virat Kohli took to his official Twitter handle and then posted a picture and a special caption featuring MS Dhoni.

Meanwhile, RCB have played five games so far this season wherein they won two games and lost the rest of the three games. RCB won against Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals but lost to Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings.
