The excitement for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is building up. The IPL 16th will take begin from 31st March with the final set to take place on 28th May. The teams have started to prepare themselves and are leaving no stone unturned in the build-up to the tournament.
Much to the fans delight, Chennai Super Kings skipper MS Dhoni has returned to action. The wicketkeeper batter was seen sweating out at the nets and getting himself into the groove ahead of the league.
The picture of him batting in the nets got viral on the internet with many fans expressing their happiness to see him bat again. Dhoni was last seen in the action during the IPL 2022. It was a horrendous campaign for the team as they finished 9th on the points table.
IPL 2023 potentially will be the last season for MS Dhoni in the league. The four-time champions have been extremely dominant in the league and it’s fair to say that the keeper batter is the main reason behind it.
With MS Dhoni likely to retire after the season, it’ll be a great headache for the team about who will be their next captain. They tried to pass the baton last year when they named Ravindra Jadeja as the skipper but the move didn’t work out as he failed as a captain and the keeper batter took back the charge.
