Recently, Star Sports announced the list of commentators for IPL 2024. The list included some legends of the game along with certain cricketers who are still an active part of the game. Interestingly, some of these players were involved in the IPL 2024 Auctions. On that note, here, we take a look at the list of five players unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions who will be commentators for IPL 2024.

1) N Jagadeesan
N Jagadeesan is one of the players unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions who will be commentators for IPL 2024. He was one of the important signings for KKR in IPL 2023 Auctions. However, despite getting a few games, he could not do well.
Later, his domestic season in the T20 format was also not great. Hence, he was not picked by any team. Now, he will don the hat of a commentator and he will do the job in Tamil.
2) Steve Smith
One of the big names who will do commentary in IPL 2024 will be Steve Smith. One of the marquee players to go unsold at the IPL 2024 Auctions, Steve Smith could also play in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Considering the likes of Devon Conway are injured, it would not be a surprise if someone like Steve Smith still has a role to play in IPL 2024. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see what he brings to the table as a commentator.
3) Jagadeesha Suchith
Jagadeesha Suchith is one of the players unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions who will be commentators for IPL 2024. The Karnataka all-rounder will be a part of the Kannada commentatory panel for IPL 2024.
The last few months have not gone in the right direction for him. His performances have not been great and he has been dropped often. Even in the IPL, he did not get many games to prove his skills. He still has the age to make a strong comeback, though.
4) Murugan Ashwin
Murugan Ashwin, who recently moved outside Tamil Nadu, will be one of the Tamil commentators for IPL 2024. A wily leg-spinner, he played for teams such as RCB, MI and RR in the history of the league. However, his form dropped in the last few seasons.
In recent times, leg-spinners have played a vital role in a T20 team. It will be interesting to hear the perspective of a cricketer, who has been a part of this period.
5) Varun Aaron
Varun Aaron is one of the players unsold in IPL 2024 Auctions who will be commentators for IPL 2024. The pacer from Jharkhand recently retired from FC Cricket. However, he was a part of the auctions recently but failed to find a buyer.
That said, with players such as Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna ruled out, Varun Aaron could still have a chance. With the new rule of two bouncers in an over, players who can hit the deck hard such as Varun could be in demand. Meanwhile, he will be a commentator in IPL 2024.
