Team India also made it to the final of the ICC World Test Championship but lost to New Zealand in the final showdown. While India displayed might in most of the games, silverware was the only one missing when Shastri and Kohli were at the helm.

Former Team India’s fielding coach opens up on Kohli-Shastri blunder

R Sridhar was part of India’s support staff as the team’s fielding coach and has certainly enjoyed his spell with the team. Needless to say, he regretted one big missed chance by Virat Kohli and Ravi Shastri, which he strongly believes Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma won’t repeat again in the future.

While heading into the ICC ODI World Cup, the Men in Blue had all their bases covered except one batsman at the No.4 slot. Although Team India tried out various candidates with the permutations and combinations, on the match day, it has come to trouble Team India in crucial stages.

Till now, former India’s fielding coach Sridhar regrets the No. 4 issue, which he claims, could have been avoided in the first place given the strength and core of the Indian cricket team. However, R Sridhar confidently said that he doesn’t see Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid making the same mistake in the future.
