The T20 World Cup 2022 is keeping fans on their toes. With just a few leagues left, there’s still no certainty who will be the four teams that will make it into the semi-finals. Talking about Group B, India and South Africa are favorites to go through.
Ahead of the Super 12, many backed Pakistan to grab that semi-final spot. But this wasn’t the case as they have been disappointing in the tournament. They first suffered a loss against India and then were at the receiving end of thrashing at the hands of Zimbabwe.
The loss against Zimbabwe dented their chances. Pakistan won the next two games on the trot against the Netherlands and South Africa but they are on the brink of elimination. For them to qualify, they would want things to go their way.
They need to beat Bangladesh in their last game and hope that South Africa vs Netherlands game gets washed out or the Dutch beat the Proteas. Also if this didn’t happen, they would be hoping Zimbabwe to beat India.
Their qualification not being in their hand depicts that they are on the brink of elimination and it is also likely that both India and South Africa will win their last game and make it through to the semi-finals.
