Playing at this venue for the first time in his career, Gaikwad got off to a scintillating start by taking the opposition’s bowling attack to the cleaners. In the process, he went on to score a brilliant fifty.

He ended up scoring 57 off 31 balls including 3 fours and 4 sixes before he fell prey to Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling in the first ball of the 10th over. Currently, Ruturaj Gaikwad has 149 runs to his name from two games.

After the game, the CSK star echoed that he is not really looking at Orange Cap in the first place and emphasized that he is looking forward to giving good starts and contributing to the team in the best possible manner.

Gaikwad is totally aware of the fact that CSK failed to operate as a team in the previous edition of the IPL where they finished ninth on the points table. CSK will lock horns with Mumbai Indians in the next match on March 8, Saturday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
