Mitchell Starc is one of the most fierce bowlers in world cricket at the moment. When in rhythm, he can shatter the opposition at his own will. We have seen some spectacular things from him with the ball on the cricket field.

However, Starc’s form has blown hot and cold of late. He has not been at his threatening best with the ball in recent times. As a result, the viewers have started questioning his place in the national team.

The former Australian spinner, Shane Warne, also asked for his exclusion from the recently concluded Ashes series. He wanted the team management to replace Starc with an exciting Jhye Richardson.

Before the start of The Ashes series, Warne said, “He needs to find a bit of rhythm and some form. He had a poor [T20] World Cup. He’s just not bowling well enough. It’s too important at the Gabba. So I’m all for Jhye Richardson”.

Jhye Richardson has an excellent FC record and his selection would have been understandable. But, the team management opted to stick with Mitchell Starc throughout the Ashes rubber. The left-arm pacer repaid the faith as he ended the Ashes series with the second-most wickets (19).

“I think, what was it? It was a straight half-volley on leg-stump I think someone said. What would you like me to speak to him about? It doesn’t interest me at all. He’s entitled to his opinion. I’m just going to go about my cricket the way I’d like to, and I’ve got my family support networks and I get to play cricket with some of my best mates, so I’m pretty comfortable with where I’m at,” exclaimed Mitchell Starc.

Mitchell Starc will look to continue his form in the upcoming games too. He will be crucial for Australia in the coming series, including the T20 World Cup scheduled later this year.
