“Finally, someone has said it. This is a serious concern”, Twitter reacts as Wasim Jaffer is curious about the last time a full-strength India team played on the field

Wasim Jaffer, a former Indian Test opening batsman, has cast doubt on the current Team India squad’s physical readiness. After losing to Bangladesh in the one-day international series, India is under scrutiny. After losing by five runs in the second one-day international in Dhaka on December 7, the Men in Blue now trail Bangladesh 0-2 in the three-game series.

They had already lost the ODI series in New Zealand 0-1 because of the weather. Before that, England crushed them in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 by a score of 10 wickets. Even in the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where they’ve had so much success in the past, the Men in Blue came up short.

Wasim Jaffer is curious about the last time a full-strength India team played on the field

On Thursday, December 8, Jaffer posted an introspective tweet on Team India’s recent defeats. In it, he wondered aloud when the last time was that India fielded a full-strength team. His tweet said:

“When was the last time India played a full-strength team? Where no one was rested or missing due to injury?”

Many people responded to Jaffer’s post. Others questioned the post’s motivations, asking why India, which has claimed to be able to field two or three teams, required its entire complement of players to defeat Bangladesh.

Rohit Sharma, captain of the Indian cricket team, has recognized the seriousness of the problem of players being injured too often.

In fact, Rohit himself will not be playing in the series finale since he hurt his thumb while trying to catch a ball in the second ODI. The likelihood of his playing in the Test series is also uncertain.
