‘KL Should Take Retirement & Focus On Shetty Ki Lady’-Fans React As KL Rahul Is Set To Miss The T20I Series Against West Indies

KL Rahul, the opener for Team India, is expected to be sidelined for the forthcoming Twenty20 International series against the West Indies. It was anticipated that he would be able to participate with the squad in the series’ shortest format, and he had also made a full recovery from his injuries. However, before his trip to the Caribbean country, he presented a positive test result for COVID-19. Even though he was meant to rejoin the squad shortly after completing his recovery, it is said that the medical staff at the BCCI has urged the Karnataka batsman to have more rest.

KL Rahul will not feature in the T20I series against West Indies

As a result of Rahul having surgery for a sports hernia in June, he was forced to skip India’s important tour of England, during which the Indian cricket team competed in a test match, three one-day internationals, and as many Twenty20 Internationals. The past few weeks have been difficult for Rahul. Before receiving positive test results for the virus, he was recuperating in Bengaluru.

According to sources in ESPNCricinfo, KL Rahul was meant to join team India for the USA leg of the T20Is, where two matches are slated to be played. However, this would rely on the findings of his cardiovascular tests, which are now being conducted. But due to this new development, he will be unable to participate in any of the games, and instead, he will be concentrating on the next trip to Zimbabwe, where India will compete in three one-day internationals against the host side. After that, India will take part in the Asia Cup beginning on August 27.

Will Rishabh Pant be available to play?

It would be intriguing to watch whether Rishabh Pant will get an opportunity to begin the innings alongside Rohit Sharma given that KL Rahul will not be participating in the Twenty20 International series against the West Indies. Ishan Kishan is also a member of the team and will serve as the second wicketkeeper. He is also in the running to play at the opening position, but this will rely on the opinion of the team management.

The Twenty20 International series that India will play against the West Indies will include the strongest possible team, except for Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, who have been given the series off. It is anticipated that both players will show up for the Asia Cup. On the other hand, the Blue Men will round up the one-day international series with their third and final match on July 27.
