“A selector who has been sacked has been appointed again” – Twitter reacts as Chetan Sharma has a good chance to be part of the new selection committee if he is interested to work under a new chairman

Not long ago, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) reportedly sacked Chetan Sharma-led senior national selection committee in the wake of India’s shocking exit from the ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

The Men in Blue surrendered at the hands of the England cricket team in the semi-final and as a result, the BCCI decided to revamp the whole selection committee.

Team India’s performances were up to the mark in the Super 12 as they piled up as many as eight points more than any other team in the marquee event in Australia. They even finished first on the Group 2 points table and deservedly made it to the semis of the competition.

Needless to say, they lacked the killer instinct to outsmart the England cricket team in the semi-finals as the Three Lions got the better of the Men in Blue by 10 wickets.

Meanwhile, according to the latest PTI source, Chetan Sharma has a good opportunity to be a part of the new selection committee if he is really interested to work under a new chairman.

However, there hasn’t been any official confirmation or update from the BCCI or from Chetan Sharma and we must be getting an update regarding this anytime soon.

The BCCI made its intentions very clear and that is to allow senior players to focus only on One Day Internationals in the build-up to the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to be held in India next year.

On the other hand, it seems that Hardik Pandya will be the future T20I captain of Team India. Hardik Pandya was also named the T20I captain for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka starting on January 3 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Rohit Sharma will be making a comeback for the three-match ODI series as he will be leading the pack from the front. The ODI series opener begins on January 10 at Barsapara Stadium.
