Lucknow Super Giants locked horns with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 43rd match of the sixteenth edition of the IPL. RCB skipper Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to open the face of the blade first.
As it turned out, it was indeed a tough wicket to bat as the RCB batters struggled to score runs at a rate of knots. RCB could muster just 42 runs in the powerplay overs, which is their lowest-ever score in IPL 2023.
In the end, Royal Challengers Bangalore ended up posting 126 for the loss of nine wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Faf du Plessis top-scored with 44 off 40 balls including 1 four and 1 six. Virat Kohli scored 31 off 30 balls including three fours during his stay at the crease.

In response, Lucknow Super Giants totally messed up the plot in the run-chase. They could have handled the run-chase better but they ended up playing right into the hands of RCB bowlers. In the end, LSG went on to lose the game by 18 runs in Lucknow.
