MS Dhoni is one of the most successful captains in the history of India’s premier T20 competition, Indian Premier League. Under his captaincy, Chennai Super Kings have accomplished great things since its inception.

CSK have won four IPL titles, which is one less than Mumbai Indians’ overall tally of five titles. It will be quite interesting to see how the yellow army goes about its work in the upcoming season of the IPL.

In the previous campaign, CSK failed to operate as a team and which saw them losing most of the games. They could only churn out four wins out of the 14 games of the league stage.

Nobody has said it is MS Dhoni’s final year: Deepak Chahar

There were rumours and widespread speculations stating that the upcoming season could be MS Dhoni’s last season at Chennai Super Kings. MS Dhoni is 41 years old and there is no telling what would happen after the end of the IPL 2023 season.

MS Dhoni has surprised the fans with his unexpected retirement in his overall cricketing journey. While many others reckon that it is MS Dhoni’s farewell season for CSK, Deepak Chahar doesn’t think so.

The CSK’s bowling all-rounder echoed that nobody has said it is MS Dhoni’s final year at CSK. While speaking to News India Sports, Deepak Chahar added that hopefully, MS Dhoni will play for a few more years.

Last but not least, he added that the team management wants MS Dhoni to play as much as he can. MS Dhoni has been the backbone of CSK’s history. He has played as many as 234 games in the IPL wherein he scored 4978 runs in the competition.

He is only 22 runs away from completing 5000 runs in the IPL. Overall, he has smashed as many as 24 half-centuries to his name at a strike rate of 135.2.
